It presented to the means the movie to herself for (The fear) with its director Jordi Cadena and the acquaintance actor Igor Szpakowski (of Red Bracelets). Movie on that we will comment tomorrow. Today we look a little for our neighbor of the south and also for this movie that had attracted attention of the public in genral and some specializing critic.
Him grand voyage (The long trip)
Inside the cycle of the Moroccan movies of the XXIst century we could have seen this movie of the director Ismaël Ferroukhi. A franco-Moroccan joint production and that was released in 2005 (it has lost a freshness not even apex).
Father and son has to realize a trip of close to five thousand kilometers and scarcely they know each other. From the south of France, Réda and its father begin the trip in order to realize the peregrinaje to the Mecca. They cross Italy, Serbia and Montenegro, Turkey, Syria and Jordan, up to reaching Saudi Arabia.
It is possible to say many things of this movie. And this is already a big virtue. Two conflicting generations. On the one hand the tradition, on the other hand the modernity. Father and son have lived of backs. The father does not want to leave this world without visiting the Mecca. And he cannot already wait any more. The son has to initiate the trip against its desires (it is on the point of finishing its studies) and it will only do it for the fact that its father still has a lot of weight inside the family and he is respected. And before the desires of its father it does not have another way out. A road movie that covers different countries to fulfill one of the prescripts in the life of a good Muslim: to come once in the life to the Mecca. If it is walking better that in horse, if it is in horse, better that in car, if in car better that in ship, and if it is in ship better in which in plane. The Réda father one tries to explain it to its son, and of that it is of what it is a question: of going, but also living through the way. A thing that Réda is unable to understand because the está installed in the age of the immediate thing, of the hurries, of the mobile telephony or of the alcohol like way of diversion. They say that who return from this peregrinaje are already not the same. Many are the ups and downs that father and son has to spend in the course of this trip. Solved some of them with some touches of humor and with the presence of a pair of personages that they have its point.
Powerful and impressive images of the Mecca and especially of its precincts, with the crowd trying to come to fulfill its target. And especially this anxiety of the son for finding its father like a good metaphor of what has supposed its life up to this moment: to go a little to cross-current of the traditions of its father. Brilliant.

A short one of only seven minutes that I did not see the grace for any side. Without voice, of course with a powerful sound-track in crescendo, a series of images are parading at full speed the screen. Many of them are icons of the modern age. But so-so. The fact is that I do not have the head to try to think about its intention. To forget.
Short Term 12
From the same moment in which we are born, we like that they tell us histories. Hence the pleasantries, small humor histories, we loved. Also we like that they love us, that contemplate us, that prove to be to us the sweetheart who feels they were doing we the family, the friends, the couple. Of that it is of what Short Term 12 treats the first movie of the director from Hawaii Destin Daniel Cretton. There are a history that they hide behind each of the tortured lives of this young people who have to shelter in a species of center or house of reception in which they can be only until they fulfill 18 years. Grace (Brie cheese Larson), a young woman of veintipocos years, is one of the persons who try to help this young people. And it does not do it from the studies but from the proper experience, from the deepest pain of its being that in spite of its youth already has great history to be counted. Grace will remember its past on having contacted with one of the young people who comes to the center. A past that was lethargic and that now it salts to the surface after this new tenant sees that one reflected. Thanks to this humor, in the shape of pleasantries, it is as they are capable of being able to carry so much pain, so much I root out, so much lack of affection. This is the proper therapy that the young protagonist applies to herself along with its fiancé Mason (John Gallager Jr). also therapist. But it is to her whom we see in almost all the planes and the one that supports all the weight of the movie. Short Term 12 sustains himself in a solid script; it is providing the information to us little by little and that gives like turned out a movie that keeps you attentive during the whole length for its perfect tempo. Nothing remains him, I nor lack any more either. Everything has it. So it is no wonder that this history of (terrible) histories goes out of the contest with anything any more than the applause of the public. Short Term 12 has the virtue of coming to the spectator's soul, of empatizar with him and simultaneously of insuflarle little hope, in this injured society, thanks to these so necessary small humor doses in our days.
