Jason Hawkes paints the portrait of night Valladolid

Today on July 25, 2012 there has appeared in Valladolid, in the Square of the Millenium, the exhibition of aerial photographies of night Valladolid realized by Jason Hawkes.

Under the title «Valladolid from the air, light in the night» there appears a series of photos of the London artist specializing in this type of snapshots.

The lovers of the photo meet Hawkes for its beautiful air cities pictures like London or New York. Jason Hawkes has been a designated photographer for the Olympic Games of London 2012. At present he is considered to be one of three best photographers of the world in aerial photography and a test of it there are the numerous awards that it hoards such like AOP, the D&AD and Campaign Press Awards.

The visual spectacle that the air pictures of Valladolid offer is extraordinary. The planning of the city is revealed like amazing with the treatment of the light of its emblematic buildings. It is undoubted that the city has adorned itself with the route of Rivers of Light and across these snapshots we see as they emphasize bridges, towers, squares, churches and public spaces (the Dome of the Millenium seems impressive in each of the photos). There remains clear the sense of Rivers of Light: on the one hand to embellish the city and for other a rational and suitable lighting that they do of the route and, hence, the city a modality of sostenibilidad and avant-garde.

It is no wonder that Ríos of Light has received many awards: the Award City. People. Light 2011 to the Best World Project of Urban Lighting; the Award Territory and Marketing 2011 to the Best National Project of Urban development; the International Award Aqueduct of Segovia of Good Practices in Tourism and Patrimony, or the Special Mention of the Awards of Lighting 2012 of the American Society of Engineering in Lighting.

Before these snapshots the vallisoletano will be surprised and feel a pride certain in living in this city, in being pucelano. And the foreign one will be astonished and probably that will look for a hollow in its agenda to destine some day to visit our city. This initiative is pioneering in Spain. I do not know any other city that has been painted the portrait as it has been Valladolid.

The Town hall of Valladolid with this initiative thinks about how to broaden the horizons and attract tourists of other national cities or foreigners. 33 panels with images and texts (translated into four languages) are part of this target that will be completed by the edition of, probably, a luxurious book with most of these photos.

At the act of opening of the sample they were present on the part of the Town hall of Valladolid, the mayor, Francisco Javier León de la Riva, and the manager of Presidency, Fernando Rubio Ballestero; and the representatives of the sponsoring companies of the exhibition: Jesus García of Waters of Valladolid and Jesus González de Hergonsa, and those of the collaborating companies: Ignacio Pérez of The North of Castile, Florencio Carrera of 8 of Valladolid (CyLTV) and representatives of Mozo-Grau.

From today until middle of September it will be possible to visit the photos and to give an air walk of the hand of Jason Hawkes to contemplate with admiration monuments as emblematic as the Academy of Knighthood, the environment of san Pablo (church, Museum of Sculpture, Palace of Villena and the Palace Pimentel), the Main square, the Cathedral, the Spanish Parliament (novel and very showy) or a spectacular general sight from the area of West up to the Bridge of the Hispanic world (for me one of the most spectacular).

Once the sample finishes the air photos of «Valladolid from the air, light in the night» they will be re-used for the decoration of the parking of the same Square of the Millenium.

Magazine Atticus reproduced in its printed edition (number TWO) a selection of excellent photos of Luis Laforga of the series Rivers of Light. For the edition of the next printed number (THREE whose exit to the market will be the first of October) we will offer to all our readership and friends an elegant selection of these aerial photographies of Jason Hawkes. I can make sure you that its snapshots are wonderful, showy, unpublished and spectacular. To have a little of patience.

I leave to you a linkage of the page of Jasón Hawkes, of Rivers of Light and of another news that we publish in due time:
