After twelve years of military dictatorship the Andalusian society lives fearfully. They still keep on judging (in a military court) the acts of rebelliousness or rebelliousness with very serious sorrow, even with the death penalty. Many of these convicts were forged in the falsity and/or in the defenselessness. This situation is the one through that Enrique (Garate was Going) lives every day, how secretary in the court. A destination for its military service that seems comfortable and appetizing, removed from the barracks, but that was finishing with being a nightmare. Carmen (Blanca Suárez) had interyielded before its uncle don Eladio to achieve this position. Don Eladio (Karra Elejalde), lieutenant colonel, examining magistrate, a good soldier sees in the young man for its niece. Nice, efficient, hard-working and innocent, it is possibly moldeable and a good candidate to enter the courts once I finished its right studies. Pero Enrique has other plans. These will turn out to be altered before the events that he attends in its destination point.

Every expressed judgment is a farce. The forms keep facing the public opinion and the properties constitute it the typewriter that is struck in the officials' bar that is where it is supposed that the judgment is written, while the relatives wait for it in the exterior. Enrique before the pressure so that it strikes the machine, so that it does noise, is raising the indignation and the anger and is taking conscience of which the life is not to see her happening ahead, of that it has to take position like its brothers, like most of its neighboring ones that find that one fighting in the secrecy. And more than one surprise will take on having discovered that it is not alone in the company.

The followers of the director Uribe will have remained a little disappointed with orange Honey. After five years of absence the new movie of Imanol Uribe is a miscellany of movies of adventures, love story, black movies with aroma thriller and the dramatic load that bears the suffering of the postwar period. Orange honey is not one more movie of the postwar period; it is a feelings movie, with very elegant esthetics that makes forget some others on the same topic. All this forms a quite worn out tape, with a notable script and very brilliant in the technical aspects as it could be the excellent photo of Gonzalo Berridi who creates a few ambiences full of contrasts and elaborated composition. Or also inside this technical paragraph, the epoch setting is meritorious. But, in the fund, the grounds that leaves orange Honey to you are nearer to that of the reiteration that to that of the surprise, more to the boredom that to the entertainment, finally a movie that is not bad, but that he lacks soul, he lacks emotion.

It is no wonder that this movie has risen with two awards in the past festival of Malaga: to the Best Direction and New Script. The script is of Remedies Frizzy and Julio Alejandro was rewarded in VI Award SGAE of Script in 2009 of the one that was sworn the proper Uribe.

As for the work of the actors, the role of Karra Elejalde is very outstanding. It seems that its recent Goya as supporting actor in Also the rain of Iciar Bollaín has catapulted him. Its performance is believable, round and convincing that it gets into the skin of a villain who hides behind a uniform and of the supposed service to the Homeland.

Nevertheless the young equal protagonist scarcely they bring verisimilitude to its respective personages, perhaps for something of bisoñez, perhaps for the absence of characterization of the proper roles.
