Selection October, 2011. Facing

21 topics compose the Cd of this month. In this first part we have of everything. A Finnish group, an Italian singer-songwriter, a Frenchman, an Irish, an Englishwoman, two Australian brothers, several Americans and a Brazilian. The topic covers with stars, which can be heard during this month on having initiated our page is that of Lisa Hannigan: I don`t know. And without much ado let's discover our selection.

1 - Sigur Ros. Song: Fljótavîk.

This topic sounded at the end of a chapter Without Previous Appointment (in English Deprive Practice to yourself) that is what the Americans call a spin-off of the series Grey's Anatomy. A series that narrates the life of Doctor Addison Montgomery (interpreted by Kate Walsh) after Seattle leaves the Hospital. The topic is some (many) tristón and there is entitled Fljótavík of the Icelandic band Sigur Rós. And if you are interested in very much it belongs to the album Í Eyrum Vi (takes note) Me your Spilum Endalaust. The voice in spigot belongs to its singer Jón Þór Birgisson. At the end of January, 2010 the band announced that they were going to take a rest time and they have disappeared up to new notice.

2 - Raphael Gualazzi. Song: Follia d'amore

This Italian represented Italy in the Eurovision of the latter year. It is a frivolity that I bring to you here. The song did not win but it pleased very much. So it came to my ears and seemed interesting to me. He is a singer-songwriter and jazz pianist. I believe that an opportunity is deserved. The translation of the title to Spanish would be “a Madness of love”. You will see already when this artist becomes so famous as Julio Iglesias and lean you and say yes, I already read it in Magazine Atticus of the hand of some Castaway.

3 - Yodelice. Song: Free.

As I commented in the list of last month, Yodelice is Maxin Nucci, a French singer who scarcely has exceeded the about thirty. A few times it makes be called this way: Yodelice. This topic takes for title simply Free. We can observe in Youtube a curious video.

4 - Lisa Hannigan. Song: I Don't Know.

I confess to them that I feel weakness for this singer since I heard it doing choirs or to duo with Damien Czech Republic. Both were also an attention motive in the selection of last month. I have emphasized this topic like the video of the month. Not only for its song but also for being a very original video. Also I leave another linkage to you with another video of the same topic. It is a question of a surprise that must have given in an Irish pub.

5 - Rumer. Song: Take Me As I Am.

Rumer (in honor of Rumer Godden, an English writer) is the alias of Sarah Joyce (Islamabad, 1979). She is a young singer and British composer arisen in the bosom of Myspace.com. After an eventful life finally it ended up in London to try to throw its musical career. In November, 2010 it extracted its first Cd that goes for title: Seasons of My Soul. It has a very unloaded topic, which is very possible let's bring it here in another occasion, Slow. Attention to its letters, many poetry, but somewhat dulzonas.

6 - Joe Esposito. Canción:Lady, lady, lady.

It belonged to a band, Brooklyn Dreams, acquaintances for collaborating with Donna Summer. It had a career more or less, of certain relief in the year 1970 and 1980. But the success of Joe Esposito came to him from the hand of this song Lady, lady, lady that was part of the sound-track of a peliculón of the 80s that was not different that Flashdance. Who did not dream of the young protagonist who was trying to do a hollow to herself in the dance while it was giving to the hard blowpipe? And, already put: who did not dream of being this good-looking lady's man, for any more signs, its chief, who was going to look for him with its flaming Veranda? (or: who did not dream that they were going to look for it a young lady's man with the Veranda, to the exit of the work? Here I leave a video to you to remember this topic, this movie and this actress.

7 - Patricia Barber. Song: Winter.

Patrica Barber (Chicago, 1956) is consider like one of the voices jazzísticas more acclaimed by the criticism from the ends of the XXth century. Also he is a composer and pianist. Here, in this video, we can see it in a live performance (somewhere near July, 1999, as it prays in the youtube video) it seems to be that in the Coffee du Boit in Quebec, Montreal with its topic Winter.

8 - Agnus and Julia Stone. Song: Take You Away.

A duo of Australian brothers who began singing in 2006. They are children of two musicians. We go that they take it in the genes. A very simple and nice song is Paper Aeroplane, but today I bring to you this other one where Julia stands out with this angelical voice and without scarcely instruments. I recommend to you to visit its web page that is very lively and interesting.

9 - Sufjan Stevens. Song: Futile Devices.

American singer-songwriter of the fifth one of 1975. Much tranquilito, relaxing and short this topic Futile Devices of an author who already is about 10 cds and that up it cheered you to discover.

10 - Caetano Veloso. Song: Cucurrucucu Pigeon.

It had to bring this temazo here. Last month it was alluding to him, owing to the entry of the topic it covers with stars of the sound-track of the movie “Kidling minor lies”. So for proper right Caetano Veloso, with this beautiful version, it is part of this cd compilation. Brazilian, of Bay, on the verge of fulfilling 70 years interpreted this song in the icy moment of the movie “Speak with her” of Pedro Almodóvar. In fifteen days we will continue with the face B, with another eleven topics.
