Museum Courtyard Herreriano receives the presentation of TWO of Magazine Atticus

Throwing of the number TWO of Magazine Atticus in its printed edition.

Last Thursday, the 23rd of June there presented in the Assembly room of the Museum Courtyard to itself Herreriano (Spanish Contemporary Art museum) of Valladolid the number TWO of Magazine Atticus in its printed edition. There came to the act Cristina Fontaneda (director of the Museum Courtyard Herreriano) and Luis José Cuadrado Gutiérrez (publisher of Magazine Atticus).

Luis José Cuadrado, publisher of Magazine Atticus, speaking to the assistants in the presentation of Magazine Atticus TWO. public.

The publisher of the publication began its speech with the reason of a presentation of the and reason of a number TWO.

“From Magazine Atticus we believe that our publication has a hollow in the current cultural panorama, hence this determination in going out to the market although the financial crisis advises everything opposite; and the predictions that are realized on the press in role, in general, augur a more and more uncertain future.”

Later it reviewed:

“We will continue with the digital edition, promoting the web site, but we will maintain the printed edition. Personally I lack a publication as the dead FMR (Franco Maria Ricci) was the number one, the queen of the magazines, the excellent magazine. I do not know another equal publication, and have to admit that it is my inspiration source. I am tired of going to the kiosks (already almost like a romantic gesture) to buy such and such magazine and to meet a heap of publications in which they promote more the gift that accompanies to the copy that the proper publication in itself. Espadrilles, swimsuits, colonies, bracelets, purses, books, cds, dvds and up to USB. It is the flea market of the culture. There the attractive of the bundle reigns on the quality of the content. It gives priority more to the extra cost of the gift than the publication. As reader and as lover of the art or of the trips lacked a publication that does not repeat the same destinations every two years: London, Venice, Prague, Paris or Rome. Or that not me of returns to the same picture of the Gioconda every three for four. Finally I lack FMR.

As publisher of Magazine Atticus I want that the reader comes to our publication in search of articles attractive and not so threshed by other publications. I want that the one that wants to know something about Aurelio Carretero comes to us, that who wants to know something about the sculpture of Nerón and Séneca of the Prado Museum buys Magazine Atticus or if they want to know who there were the components of the Group Simancas read the article of Elías Manzano Corona in our number TWO. Finally, we want to make faithful a public lover of the art and of the good taste.

That's why we extract a number TWO and that's why we do this presentation. If we do not have certain aftereffect we are not anybody. If we have no readership it does not cost of anything what we do and if we do not have who buys our magazine, all these expositions of the taste for the art and wanting to please they have not any sense.”

Luis José Cuadrado does delivery to Cristina Fontaneda of an "Atticus" like recognition to its work.

Luis José Cuadrado in diverse moments of the intervention alluded to the book of Albert Espinosa The world of the yellow ones. It connected some passage of this book with what the considera already friends Atticus (in clear allusion to the yellow friends of Thorny). Moment in which low Andrés Coello presented in society the figure realized by the Foundation to himself design of Alberto Sobrino and in numbered edition of 100 copies to entertain all those friends, collaborators and institutions that support the cultural project Magazine Atticus. This recognition will be delivered in diverse phases. In the same act delivery was done to Cristina Fontaneda of one of them by its determined bet for the dissemination of culture and the support in particular of Magazine Atticus. Also other one delivered to Enrique Fernández Vega, sales manager of Volswagen and to Foundation House of Dawn (Lola Moralí gathered the award in its name) for the commitment with Magazine Atticus from its beginnings.

To finish the act it was passed to the reading of several poems making use that its authors were in the room. Manolo Madrid came from Zamora to adorn the act with the reading of its poems. Santiago Medina Carrillo moved together with its family from Madrid to be present at once and to give reading to some of its poems and of several of its partners that it goes to glutinando in a blog. And, finally, one of the youngest collaborators of Magazine Versatile Atticus, Noelia Toribio, recent award granted by The North of Castile to the most promising poet, read Fukushima mon amour (of José Carlos Nistal) and its poem Hornbeam Diem.

Fukushima, mon amour

And there roars the sea and the waves

they invade the coast

and anegan the normality.

And the sea and the ground roars

it keeps on being opened in channel,

gobbling the normality.

And the sea and the sky roars

it is opened for glance, the faces

dead of solitude.

And he dies the day and the ship

and the flower of the cherry trees

and the “white men” grow *.

And there die the children, the old men

for the sea, for the way

of nuclear death.

And there dies the fruit and the old men

they cry, because they will not see it,

because they will not see them maturing,

neither to the fruits nor to the grandchildren.

The nuclear thing killed them.

And there roars the sea and the waves

of the people who comes and goes,

fleeing of the death

nuclear.

And they eat neither fruit, nor vegetable,

they cannot even embrace each other

with that they live nearby

to the nuclear power plant.

Moan, Fukushima, mon amour!

Je t'aime. J'étais if près of toi …

Your fais that je mors près of toi.

Oh Fukushima, mon amour!

Je you déteste. Je pars loin

mais toujours je serai prés of ton âme.

Moan, Fukushima!

Moment in which Noelia Toribio proceeds to read its poem Hornbeam Diem

Hornbeam Diem

The darkness wraps me,

with a cloak without moon or stars,

and it wraps up me, imprisons me,

it is the curse of my eternal night.

Wind!

my crying is listened between the trees,

I stroll around without course, without consolation, wandering.

What I am!

but wind, a shade, a memory,

an illusion, a sleep, nobody …

Carnation of reddish petal,

do not waste dew tears,

it dazzles with your handsomeness,

until your incessant sheen goes out.

Have a good time!

before falling down to the empty infinite

and to stroll around with me blind and wandering.

Carnation!

you will be a wind, a shade, a memory,

an illusion, a sleep, nobody …

Noelia Toribio
